The Great Apostasy: It's Happening Right Before Our Eyes

The Great Apostasy: It's Happening Right Before Our Eyes

When the Church Abandons Biblical Truth for a Counterfeit Christianity

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition." — 2 Thessalonians 2:3 (KJV)

There is something terribly wrong within professing Christianity today, and the most alarming part is how many people fail to recognize it.

We are witnessing a religious culture where biblical truth is being exchanged for emotional experiences, supernatural encounters, alleged prophetic revelations, and a counterfeit gospel that bears little resemblance to the faith once delivered unto the saints.

And yet, millions continue to call it a move of God.

But what does the Bible actually say?

The Apostle Paul warned the Thessalonian believers about a coming falling away, an apostasy associated with the revealing of the man of sin. The Greek word apostasia carries the meaning of rebellion or departure. In this passage, Paul is addressing deception surrounding the Day of Christ and the events connected with the revealing of the man of sin.

This was not a warning to abandon biblical discernment and embrace every religious movement claiming to represent Jesus Christ. Quite the opposite!

Paul begins his warning with these words:

"Let no man deceive you by any means." — 2 Thessalonians 2:3

And yet, deception is precisely what so much of modern Christianity has learned to tolerate.

When Experience Replaces Scripture

Walk into many professing Christian gatherings today, and what do you find?

People chasing atmospheres, seeking supernatural manifestations, claiming to receive personal messages from God, and treating emotional excitement as evidence of the Holy Spirit.

We hear about heavenly downloads, prophetic impartations, supernatural encounters, and supposed revelations that cannot be established from Scripture.

But since when did an experience become the standard by which truth is measured?

The Word of God is the authority. Not a feeling. Not an encounter. Not a supernatural manifestation. And certainly not the claims of a charismatic personality standing behind a pulpit.

The Apostle John commanded believers:

"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." — 1 John 4:1 (KJV)

Notice that John did not instruct believers to embrace every supernatural experience simply because someone attached the name of Jesus to it.

He commanded them to TEST the spirits.

That command has not expired.

A Different Jesus and Another Gospel

Perhaps one of the most disturbing characteristics of contemporary religious deception is the willingness to accept virtually anything as Christianity, provided someone mentions Jesus.

But the Apostle Paul warned about precisely this danger.

In 2 Corinthians 11:4, Paul addresses the possibility of someone preaching another Jesus, receiving another spirit, or accepting another gospel.

Let that sink in.

Not everyone preaching Jesus is necessarily preaching the Jesus revealed in Scripture.

Not every spiritual manifestation comes from the Holy Spirit.

And not every message presented as the gospel is the gospel that saves.

This is why doctrine matters.

This is why biblical discernment matters.

And this is why the growing obsession with religious unity at the expense of truth should alarm every genuinely born-again believer.

Unity Without Truth Is Not Biblical Christianity

One of the most dangerous developments within professing Christianity is the increasing emphasis on unity without doctrinal accountability.

We hear constant appeals for Christians to come together, stop dividing over doctrine, embrace different spiritual expressions, and focus on what supposedly unites everyone.

But biblical unity is never established by abandoning biblical truth.

Jesus prayed:

"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." — John 17:17 (KJV)

And in John 17:20–21, His prayer for unity concerns those who believe on Him through the apostles' word.

The unity Christ prayed for is inseparable from the truth He revealed.

Yet today, doctrinal distinctions are increasingly treated as obstacles to religious cooperation.

This raises an important question:

Are we witnessing genuine unity in Christ, or the gradual conditioning of professing Christianity to accept a religious system where truth no longer matters?

Revelation 17 describes a woman identified as Babylon the Great, associated with spiritual corruption and opposition to God. Within the prophetic framework examined in my book, this chapter reveals the coming apostate religious system that will operate during the Tribulation.

And while we must carefully distinguish what Scripture explicitly reveals about the future from what we observe today, the growing acceptance of religious compromise should not be dismissed.

The Bible Warned That People Would Reject Sound Doctrine

Paul's warning to Timothy could hardly be more relevant to the condition of professing Christianity:

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears." — 2 Timothy 4:3 (KJV)

Notice something important.

Paul does not merely warn that false teachers will exist.

He warns that people will actively seek teachers who tell them what they want to hear.

They will turn away from truth and embrace fables.

Sound familiar?

Today, many people are far more interested in hearing about their destiny, their breakthrough, their prophetic word, or their next supernatural encounter than understanding the gospel of Jesus Christ.

They want experiences without examination.

Unity without doctrine.

Spirituality without biblical accountability.

And a Jesus who affirms their desires rather than the Christ who commands repentance and faith.

But popularity does not establish truth.

Crowds do not establish truth.

Miracles and signs do not automatically establish truth.

Scripture establishes truth.

The Coming Deception Will Be Far Greater

Second Thessalonians 2 does not end with the warning about the falling away.

Paul goes on to describe the coming of the lawless one, whose appearance will be accompanied by satanic power, signs, lying wonders, and deception.

In verses 10–12, he identifies a devastating spiritual condition among those who perish: they did not receive the love of the truth that they might be saved.

Consider the seriousness of that statement.

The issue is not merely that people were deceived.

It is that they rejected the truth.

And that brings us to the question every professing Christian must confront:

Do you love biblical truth enough to reject a religious experience, a favorite teacher, or an entire movement when Scripture exposes its error?

Because if your loyalty is to a personality, a denomination, an experience, or a movement rather than the Word of God, you are already standing on dangerous ground.

The True Church Must Remain Faithful

Jesus warned in Matthew 24:24 that false Christs and false prophets would arise and show great signs and wonders, seeking to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

The answer to deception is not to chase more signs.

It is to remain grounded in the truth of God's Word.

Jude 3 instructs believers to earnestly contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints.

Not reinvent the faith.

Not modernize the gospel.

Not compromise doctrine for the sake of religious unity.

CONTEND FOR THE FAITH.

The true Church does not need another manufactured revival, another self-appointed apostle, another prophetic download, or another religious celebrity promising an encounter with God.

We need to return to the authority of Scripture and faithfully proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

A Final Warning: Are You Truly Born Again?

The great apostasy is not simply a subject for theological discussion. It is a solemn warning about the danger of abandoning truth.

No one should assume that church attendance, religious enthusiasm, supernatural experiences, or an emotional attachment to Jesus proves genuine salvation.

Jesus declared:

"Ye must be born again." — John 3:7 (KJV)

And the gospel is clearly declared in 1 Corinthians 15:1–4: Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried, and He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.

Salvation is not found in religious experiences, spiritual manifestations, or belonging to a popular Christian movement.

Salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone.

My book, In the Shadow of the Antichrist — Unmasking the False Prophet, examines the biblical warnings concerning apostasy, religious deception, the coming False Prophet, and the prophetic events that will unfold during the Tribulation.

I did not spend four years writing this book to entertain people with another end-times theory.

My purpose is to direct readers back to Scripture and warn about the seriousness of deception within professing Christianity.

The hour is late. The warnings are written. And the question remains: Are you following the Jesus Christ revealed in Scripture, or a counterfeit Christianity that has learned to use His name?

"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." — 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)

12-21-22 Maybe Today

We all seem to pass right by the first four verses in Luke. We get to the part when our savior, Jesus was born but have you taken time to study out the first four verses? This part seems to be omitted when telling the CHRIST mas story, or as we pagans say, the birth of Christ.  Why do we, as followers of Christ, believe that a sinless man came to earth and that His sole purpose was to die on a cross for all the sins of the world. Luke 1:1-4 Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile an account of the things accomplished among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word, it seemed fitting for me as well, having investigated everything carefully from the beginning, to write it out for you in consecutive order, most excellent Theophilus; so that you may know the exact truth about the things you have been taught . WOW!! Did you catch it? As Luke penned this to Theophilus, Luke also explained to him that h...

Date Setting and High Watch Times

I have struggled with posting this blog for a while now. I knew that many people, should I vocalize my biblical opinion, would leave my YouTube and Rumble channels. In my flesh, I was like, oh no. I cannot have that. However, the Holy Spirit gave me a strong dose of conviction. He reminded me of Galatians 1:10.  For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ. I am a bondservant of Christ. His slave. Therefore I do what He wants. I am finally " coming out ", and I could not be more at peace. God leads by peace. God also gives courage. I am leaning into that courage. It is challenging to stand against the very thing tens of thousands of people follow. Sincere they may be, however, they are deceived. They have joined forces with these YouTubers who continually pull news headlines into the bible and forcefully try to make it all fit. They give you the Jewish "f...

11/01/2022 Maybe Today

This is my personal opinion expressed in this "Maybe Today". I cannot back up my theory with anything found in the Bible but one part in Revelation but I can hopefully make it make sense to anyone who is reading this blog. It's a place and if thought of often, anxiety can fester. It's a place where fear and dread will walk with you if you dwell on the future for too long.  Questions we all have asked at some point in our lives regarding our futures! Should I date him?  Am I going to get married?  Will I have kids?  What kind of job will I have when I graduate?  Will I have enough money to retire?  What if I cannot pay my bills?  What if I lose my job? How will I afford this increase in my rent, mortgage, bills, food?  Will my 401k help me?  How do I plan for retirement? Will I get divorced? What happens when you die? The long list of questions can debilitate you. I have never been one to wonder out "too far" from my present existence...
