I wanted to piggy back off of yesterday's blog.
I found it fascinating that the very verse "Be Still and know that I am God" is not what most think it means. Huh?
What are you talking about Kym.

Hey YOU, Yes, You...I GOT This - God
When the word "nations" is used in the Bible most of the times it is referring to the "Gentiles". Clearly from verse 6 we can see this passage was written in times of war.
Do not tune me out just yet. Hold on!!
Yes, are we to be still in the presence of the Lord? Of course. We are told to "mediate" on the Lord's precepts and His word. Here are some verses that tell us to do that.
Psalm 119:15;
Joshua 1:8;
Psalm 77:12;
Psalm 143:5 and more
However, the context of verse 10 is not a meditative, calm or peaceful state. It's not a let's "Be Still" and sit here with the Lord.
Or how about this one:
Hey YOU, Yes, You...my fishers of men...I Got This - Jesus
Mark 4:39
And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.
Same context as we read in Psalm 46:10. Now, I am not saying again not to be still however, no where in scripture are we told to "be still" in order to have a right standing relationship or a fruitful relationship with Christ.
We are simply told to mediate. Mediate on who God is and His precepts.
Be Still should be more important to us in the times in which we are living. That verse points to the very sovereign character of God!
When we are prone to fear, worry, or our insecurities of the future, God says,
